Default are my syncros bad?

The transmission I put in my 82 vette is a 2002 t-56 out of a camaro with about 135k on it.

The car is a monster but once in a while under high rpm shifts when I push the clutch in the change gears at high rpms I get a grinding noise and on one occassion I tried to go in another gear and got more grinding trying to go into the next gear, I wound up having to go into 6th to keep it from grinding when I came off the clutch.

its like one of those ghost problems sometimes it happens sometimes it dont.

I also have a problem sometimes when I am sitting at a light with the clutch DEPRESSED and when the light goes green I press the clutch in and it dont want to go in first I either have to

1. depress the clutch again and then press it to get it into first or
2. just shift to second and start in it.

I am pretty sure this thing needs a rebuild. but my question is how seriouse is this? is it possbile to drive it like this for a few months? when I am not hard on the shifts it works just fine and only occasionally does it do this

Is there enough fluid in the transmission? It sounds like the trans might be heating up and then displaying some issues with shifting.

running 90 for 4 hours strait most the time. had no issues on the trip, but like I said seems to only occure every so often when I try to launch. sometimes when I push the clutch in befor I even shift the it grinds

might be your syncros then but wouldn't hurt to check your fluid like the guy above said and see if that fixes it
