MGW has been making shifters for awhile just not for the fbody. They were just in GM high tech performance, they installed one of the new camaro. Its a great shifter, it comes with sealant and the allen wrench, not too many of them come complete with everything.

Just because it's worth hearing...I hate the MGW...driven 2 cars with it now, not my style at all.

Without having driven a car with the shifter you're considering, you shouldn't purchase it. Too many options, too many ways it could feel...and there's LOTS of F-Bodies with various shifters in them...drive a bunch before you make up your mind.

Yeah I have the Pro 5.0 with Lou's Short Stick, I've been driving with this setup for a few yrs now from which I upgraded from stock so I have no idea how this compares to the Hurst or B&M Ripper. I like the setup but then again, I don't have any other short-throw shifters to compare it to. I have heard alot of good things about MGW lately but I would agree with the guy above, its probably better to drive a car with different shifter setups and decide from there.

Btw, I do think the Pro 5.0 is a little loud..but it still shifts great IMO.

if you want a bad *** shifter that you can power shift at 7k with no worries at the track go with a pro 5.0 If your just daily driving the car and messing around on the street you can"t go wrong with any of the aftermarket shifters out there. I hang'em and bang'em with the pro 5.0

I have a Pro 5.0 and switch between either a Lou's Short Stick or the Pro 5.0 stick shortened 1-in depending on my mood. I bought the shifter four years ago when it was the flavour of the moment (like the MGW is now) and have been extremely pleased with it. If I said I wasn't curious about the MGW, I'd surely by lying...but why fix what isn't broken?

Completely different animal, but I have an MGW on my 2010 SS that is superb.

I use the Hurst Billet Plus with an UMI Short Stick. I got mine from Tick and they claim it fits aftermarket Hurst shifters, but I had to go to the hardware store and get some longer bolts and a couple nuts because the bolts they give you are too small for the threads on the Billet Plus.

Check your stops. Shortly after I installed mine I couldn't get into 1,3,5, or reverse. As I was pulling the shifter for a trans removal I did one last check with the boot off.
I didn't tighten the nut on the stop bolt enough and it had vibrated down. It affected my 3rd gear first, so it could be possible yours only went down far enough let your 3rd barely engage so it pops out easily.

I just got a Pro 5.0 to replace the factory Hurst. On first go-around I hated it, because the front stop was set wrong and it jumped out of gear. I fixed it today and it feels great now.

Haven't tried the MGW, but the Pro 5.0 was a great deal and it is a big improvement over the factory Hurst. I need a short stick though, the lever is too long and my old short stick doesn't fit.
