Quicktime bellhousing help!!!! I have a 2000 z28 with a t56. I am trying to install my new clutch and bellhousing but have hit a snag. I bolted the bellhousing to the block with no problem. It is dialed in within the limits of tolerance. The problem i am having is that the dowel pins on the tranny wont go into the bellhousing. Has anyone else had this problem?

no, they are in good shape. The pins fit in the holes if i try to put them in, but the wont fit in both holes, like the holes were drilled a little bit off. That shouldnt be the case though because arent these things made with jigs
Did you test fit it on the bellhousing before installing the bellhousing on the engine? I installed a T56 for a customer a few weeks back and it had a QT bellhousing on it. It went together just fine.

did not test fit. but i pulled the bellhousing off today and then tried to test fit. thats how i know the dowels fit in both holes just not the same time. I dont know what to do. I know people that say take the dowels out but i don't think that is a good idea because it helps keep it lined up

Mine went in w/o a problem... but maybe something went off when your's was made. I would contact them and see if they can swap it out.

I spoke to Ross. He is a real cool guy we were talking and he told me to send him the bellhousing and he would swap it out. Real good guy to do business with. I had this thing sitting in my room for over a year and he didnt' seem to care how old it was. That was pretty cool of him.
