Default what T56 goes on the L76

Im trying to figure out, I picked up a 2009 L76, with L92 heads hella cheap...

Which t56 works with my set up?? I want to do it on the least cost effective route.

Do I use a 1998-2002 fbody t56 if so what flywheel/clutch?

Do I use a 2004-2006 GTO, again what fly wheel and clutch..

If I used a viper T56 than what( I know the input shaft needs to be swapped, with bellhousing).. I have ran through the tranny section.. and I cant find an awnser.

Thanks guys

Any LS based T56 will bolt up, same goes for clutch. The main differences in T56's is gearing and shifter location, spline count on the output shaft.

What are you putting it in, and what is the ratio in the rear end? You need to decide if you want a 2.97 or 2.66 first gear, and also figure out how far off you need the shifter from the back of the engine.

Im dropping this into a 1975 Trans Am, not worried about shifter position.. as I have to cut the hole anyways.. I know any LS1 based tranny will bolt up, I have heard there are flywheels differences, I hear that LS3/L99/L76 all need a LS3 Flywheel, and not a LS1/LS6/LS2 set ups...

I guess I should be more specific

As long as it's an 09 or earlier motor any flywheel will bolt up, it's all a 6 point pattern. Then match your clutch to your flywheel selection.

More info here:

You can get the LS7 clutch/flywheel packaged together for less than $500 and it would solve all your problems. If you're planning on staying under 500whp.
