Default Mcleod twin disc grabs off way too high..spacers on transmission?

Im guessing the clutch lets out high because the stack height on the clutch is taller than stock clutch. Theres literally 1" max of travel before the clutch releases. I know with spec clutches they put a spacer on the slave to move it closer to the pressure plate to move the pedal engage/disengage higher off the floor.

What do you guys think about me putting maybe 1/8 to 1/4" spacers(washers) on each bolt between the bell housing and transmission to do the opposite and move the engagement farther down? I can put some sealant all around to keep dirt out and the car never sees rain.

What kind of Street Twin is it? RST,RXT, or original?

What kind of gap between face of bearing and fingers on the p/p? You need between .100" and .300" gap. I like it closer to .125"-.150" range.

Have you measured overall thickness of each disc? If you dont have enough marcel in the disc, it will release high on the pedal.

RST. And I bought it brand new and have had the problem since day one. Im guessing theres no gap at all if its releasing so quickly which is why ill make one with the spacers.

It's going to be hard to lower the release due to an LS-1 constant running bearing style and the quick release that the RST p/p has. You can do 1 of 2 things. Make a pedal stop about 3/4 of the stroke of the pedal (so the pedal does not have to go all the way to the floor) or go to a smaller diameter bore master with a needed longer stroke say 5/8 bore with a 1.4"-1.5" stroke.

Im using the stock GTO one. I wonder if switching back to the stock 350z master would make a difference since it is smaller...

Could easilly be the throwout bearing.I've seen a huge variance on the bearing thickness. Too thick of a bearing = the problem your having.
