Contaminating Clutch When Bleeding?
Hey guys....quick question. Is it possible to contaminate the clutch with fluid when bleeding 98 or newer F-body clutch slave cylinder? I tried a search but found nothing. I'm planning on bleeding mine this weekend and am a little concerned. Or, does the fluid just drip out of the bell housing cover or does flow out on outside of the bell housing?
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,

Not that I'm aware of. There is a little bleeder valve that comes out of the bellhousing so if anything, you'll just get a little bit of fluid on the transmission and bellhousing.
One word of caution though: Hydraulic fluid eats paint so cover up the area around the reservior with a towel.

Is it possible? Yes, it is. If fluid gets into the bell during the bleed process then it can and likely will eventually wind up on the clutch disc. As Matt mentioned a remote bleeder will reduce the chances of this happening. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
