Having problems shifting into any gear

Default Having problems shifting into any gear

I did some research on here and believe it might be the slave cylinder and know that the drill mod might help but I wanted to see what else people have done to remedy this problem.

I have a cammed 98 z28 . I just installed a Spec 3 clutch and have had an 02 Master Cylinder for a couple of months now. I take it to the track maybe once a month and drive it daily.It has 36k. Now I have to physically force it into gear and sometimes wiggle around to find the gear to shift into. I have had problems in the past getting it in reverse but now its a PITA driving it to work. Any suggestions?

Did you Replace the Slave cylinder? And if so did you Bleed the total system out after you got it all installed?

And everytime you Force it into gear you are Tearing up the teeth on your Syncro Assemblies 120 bucks a piece and your Gears, 120 Buck a piece also.
Need to stop driving it and fix it. Or you will be paying if you haven't already Trashed the tranny.
Never Force a tranny unless you want to rebuild it.

No on replacing the slave cylinder. This started happening yesterday on the way home. This morning had no issues untill I was on the freeway in third trying to shift into 4th you can't really stop in the middle of a freeway. The car was towed by one of our flatbeds after I got it to work so now it is sitting at home and I am wondering if it will be as eay as fixing the Slave cylinder.I was going to have James Lovelady rebuild my tranny in March so I didn't expect to do anything until then.

Where exactly is Sugarland Texas.
Isn't that near Houston?
I'm in Austin And If I had just the tranny and all the parts I can rebuild one in about 3 hours.
I only charge 60 Bucks, You buy the parts and I will hook you up with that.

Yeah it basically is Houston...I was stationed in Fort Hood up until the middle of last year.. I have a few friends in Georgetown, Temple,Belton area....I will keep you in mind and if I can get all the parts I will let you know.

bent shift forks...buddy of mine had same prob on his tranny t56 are notorious for bending shift forks making it hard to put tranny in gear or even can get stuck in a gear..best bet is to stop driving till u get it checked cuz u get stuck in a high gear and S.O.L....If u race once in a while or even if u rae everyday i would check the shift forks

I have rebuilt at least 10 in the last year.
I have not seen one bent shift fork yet
With the same symptoms.
I have seen a few Bent Shift Rods
