Looking at doing an A4 to T56 swap in my '00 Silverado behind an LS6 crate
engine. I have my eye on an '05 w/56k for $1950 with limited warranty. Not
familiar with T56 prices and was hoping for some help.

I spent 1950 on mine from a junkyard with next to no miles on it, but from what i seen at gmpartsdirect.com you can get a new one for a bit over 2700.

Because the t56 magnum is not a direct bolt in, the whole transmission is longer and the shifter location is off.

rpm transmissions and vengeance racing is modifying them to fit but it will cost (from memory) is around 4500. There is a thread on it.
