Default Mashed the clutch and snap!
Hey guys, I was driving my car earlier and I mashed the clutch somewhat hard and I heard something snap. It felt like it was right under my foot. I can't tell that anything is wrong. The clutch feels a little different but it still engages and disengages. I can't visually tell if anything is wrong under there. Anyone know what this is?

Have you checked the pedal return spring? Maybe it broke or popped off for some reason.

Its your pedal spring. If you take off your IP panels, one of the spring arms will probably fall out, and you'll see the other half of the spring is left up in the pedal mechanism. In its original form, its a round torsion spring with two "arms" at either end. Usually one of those ends breaks off first.

IMO do not worry about it. As with most Aftermarket Clutch Masters, your going to be using them and its a PAIN IN THE ***** to try to reinstall and then to have it snap again in 2 weeks.

Wait...so I have a stock clutch and master cylinder...should I just not worry about it? Will it decrease my clutch life by wearing on it? It seems like it travels all the way back up.

Without the spring, the pedal gets a bit floppy with the stock MC. So, you probably have half the spring still in there. The only downside is that the pedal won't feel as firm as when a full spring is engaged. No worries for the mechanics of the thing.
