Rear drivtain clunk.

Default Rear drivtain clunk.

Hi once in awile i'll be driving and i push the clutch in and i hear a clunk coming from the rear and also sometimes when i pull it out gear or about to put in another gear i hear and feel it also.Any thoughts?

Everything could be functioning prefectly, and you can still get the occasional clunk under those conditions.

It's worth checking the U joints, though.

It's most likely just slack in the rearend. Check the u-joints like mentioned to be safe, but try this too. Without the engine running, raise the rear of the car high enough to get under it, put the emergency brake on, put the tranny in neutral, grab the driveshaft and rotate it in both directions. It's amazing how much slop in these rearends and they still stay together.

Check your t/a mount on the back of the trans and your lca bolts.
