How to measure clutch disk thickness? Textralia clutch pictures just uploaded
I bought a used Textralia clutch and we are trying to figure out how much meat is left. I know that they come with .314 clutch material brand new, and about .260 is when they should be replaced. But how exactly do I measure it? I have a dial caliper here and we are trying to figure out.
Here are some pictures of it.

Should be the total disk thickness. Both sides. I have never had a tex so I dont know what the disk looks like but on any other single and now the twin I have, the minimum disk thickness has been measured as an overall.

There is no way that is .800" where just the friction material is. Thats almost an inch. For example, I just measured my spec 3 that looks identical to that and come up with .350". Are you measuring the center hub thickness? Just measure the thickness of one of the pucks.

You may even want to take take two or three measurements from slightly different points on one of the pucks and then average your measurements to see what you get.

I just did it over.. I measured the individual pucks . They came back in the 295-.300 range. I guess there is still life left in this clutch.
Now I have to decide if I "need" a clutch that is rated for up to 700lbs. I am building a very basic daily driver, nothing too agressive. Maybe I would be better off with a stock type clutch like a LS7.

clutch thickness
just encountered this same issue with a truck clutch, the used disk measured .310 at the outer areas to .320 at furthest inward reachable areas, a used but not fully seated AC Delco measured the same, maybe .005 more in some areas, pedal pressure was high - so high that it split the hyd clutch line. So, looking at this more carefully, I found that a Heitman relined disk has a .360 thickness, when installed the pedal pressure is much lighter, and no slippage. I have used Heitman rebuilt clutches in various applications for about 37 years and no problems yet. Other problems were also discovered, an aftermarket clutch fork/yoke was not stamped correctly, it did not clear the casting of the bellhousing, adding to the high pedal pressure, and stopping the fork travel completely.
This was on a 5.7 with a 11.75 inch clutch.
Heitman is in Houston, Tx on Mcarty
