The corvette trans is double ended.

Can you just simply unsrew the housing at the end and it looks like a normal trans or no?

I found a cheap T56 MN6 and I'm wondering if I can stick it into my camaro without a lot of work?

Anyone done this?

 

Its been done but need several parts to convert it.

 

You can convert it to a SSR-hybrid:

Or more easily into a GTO-hybrid. The GTO-hybrid will use some of the same ideas/costs of the SSR-hybrid write-up, but without any machine work and on a GTO mainshaft.

 

So I have to change out the actual trans internals?

I thought it was just maybe like a 4 inch plate that had a shaft inserted through going into a regular t56 trans to make it double ended.

Theres one sitting behind the shop next to my friends shop. This shop builds kit cars with corvette or camaro engines/transmissions. Theres stuff all over back there.
Now thats cheap to some people, not saying thats the case here.
