Sensor on left side of the trans (M6)?
Sensor on left side of the trans (M6)? I was digging around under my car this week and noticed a sensor about midway down the transmission that was disconnected. Could somebody tell me what this is and if it's important? I haven't had any issues with the trans itself, but I don't think the sensor is there without good reason
Well if its on the Drivers side i would say skip shift as well. Check and see if reverse lights work or if the skip shift function works. Install university has pictures of the skip shift solenoid.

If the skip shift function was tuned out by someone with a Tech II, the dash light will not come on and the solenoid will not activate, OR maybe they installed a skip shift eliminator and the plug that normally goes there is tied off or zip tied somewhere near that location. If a skip shift kit was installed, the dash light will still come on.

For mine, I just wired in the appropriate resistor, wrapped the solenoid in electrical tape, put some heatshrink tubing over it and tucked it out of the way instead of paying for tuning software or the skip shift eliminators. I would bet that's what it is.
