Angry T56 grinding noise??!!

Ok so i just got a 98 z28 with 71,000 on it and the transmission/clutch/throwout bearing make a really weird grinding sort of sound when the clutch is being released you can also hear the bearing spinning when the clutch is engaged in neutral. Does this noise sound like a tranny problem or something clutch related??

When you hear a bearing noise with the clutch engaged in neutral, and your foot off the clutch, it says input shaft bearing.

when you say input shaft bearing do you meant the bearing pressed onto the input shaft or the front bearing in the case?
