It feels like the gears are too close for 3-6 with the MGW.

And when I say I'm missing shifts, its not during racing, its every day driving to and from work. Its really, really frustrating. I'm thinking of swapping it back for a stock one that at least I know where the gears are.
I'll take your MGW. How much do you want for it?

Just let the shifter do the work. Missing 3rd and getting 5th is because you're trying to push it over, i know it's not far, but just push up basically and you're usually golden. I dunno, if you let the shifter center itself you shouldn't miss any gears on downshifting.

I complained about the mgw a bit although the throws are short and notchy. few of my complaints are:

1. reverse is a bitch. Im a weakling though I need to hit the gym. I almost pull a muscle in my right shoulder every time I try to push into reverse because of the shift effort and akward angle.

2. Still miss gears.. oddly enough 3-4 is what im missing. Never missed a gear in my vette in 10 years and didnt have an issue in my 01z with a umi short stick that had a hurst. Makes me wonder if something is messed with my trans.

3. 1st gear looks like 5th to me. 5th looks like the lever is in another solar system. the shifter is far forward and to the right. it's annoying.

Still love it <3
Stop looking at 1st and 5th!!!! As far as 3-4, that happened to me once when I was leaning and maybe sliding on my seat (yes, I tested out my Koni's, lol) and I hit 2nd. You can't pull it left at all when you shift 3-4

Exactly right. With a shifter this stiff that has that short of a throw you have to let the shifter do the work. That's what the stiff springs are designed for. You apply the power and it does the shifting. With a stock shifter you actually have to pick the spot to put the shifter to hit the gate. I think a couple of people have a classic case of over thinking it.

I'm not trying to force it over, I put it where I know its supposed to be. It happens more at normal speeds than hard shifting. Makes me wonder if I bent a shift fork or something, because I had no issues for the first month or so I had it on, plus I had one on my old T/A for over a year and loved it.

I don't know, it seems like you'd have to bend it pretty far to have it go to a whole different set of gears, but I'm not a tranny expert.
