Default Decided on Monster now what...?!

I ordered a monster stage 3 Saturday from SNL and after reading more and more reviews on them I keep seeing a problem of squealing. After thought I think I want to go with stage 2 and a lightweight flywheel. Car is heads/cam DAILY DRIVER and NEVER seen the track. Thinking the 6 puck disc isn't for me and stage 2 is.

Suggestions?

Need to know asap! Have to make a decision by tomorrow before it gets shipped this week.

I have the stage 3. If you slip it alot, it will squal. They are made to be beat on. Mine squals and I beat on it quite a bit. It holds great thought. I still like it even with the squeal. I think its more of a function of the driving style. I tend to slip it a bit much as it grabs so hard if you just let off.

One of my pet peeves is annoying noises coming from my car lol, but honestly I'm just thinking that since I don't go to the track then the stage 2 would be a better choice than one made for that

I would call them up and talk to them about it. I told them about my squeal, they said take it to the track and beat on it. I go to the track maybe twice a year, if that.

I'm giving them a call back tomorrow to see. When I talked to Matt at SNL the first time he said the stage 2 would be good if I keep my car how it is which I plan to for a while unless the motor goes or something. Describe the squeal you hear and how loud/bad it is if you don't mind

If you slip the clutch it squals pretty loud. You can just let it out real fast just makes it not that smooth. It doesnt squeal everytime you slip it, only some. Do a search on this forum or youtube for clutch squeal, they pretty much all sound the same. I may pull the tranny this winter and see if I can get the glazing off that is causing the squeal. I have put about 8000 miles on my monster so far. I love it.

I went from 70,000 miles clutch hydraulic setup and factory hurst to a tick master, new slave, monster clutch and mgw shifter. I could be happier how it drives. Goes into to any gear when I want it to , no forcing.

Yeah my plan is the Monster clutch, tick adj. MC, new slave, and I have a B&M short throw. I think either way I go whether it be stage 2 or 3 I will be happy considering the reviews I have read on both

Mine squeals a little if I am nice to it. Sounds just like the vids posted. Doesn't bother me.

You might be driving the wrong car if little noises bother you lol

But I know a couple of guys with monster 3's and 2's. One of my friends has a stage 2 in a heads/cam/spray GTO and it's holding well at the track on I believe 275 Mickey DR's.

Monster seriously underrates the holding capacity of their clutches, probably due to trying to avoid the issues spec had early on (i.e. 425 lb-ft rated original 2's slipping on bolt on cars...)

Dont go with the lightweight flywheel. I have it in my car and I do not like it. Makes street driving a little more difficult.

I wonder if the lightweight flywheel has anything to do with the squealing noise ?

You could be on to something as I have noticed that the LWFW can require more slipping to drive on the street.

To be clear, my stage 2 only squeals for the first couple engagements and once it has any temp in it, there is no noise.

I also remember hearing that the light weight flywheel develops hot spots easier because of the street driving.

Is there anyone on here that has the squealing noise without the light flywheel ?

I did back down to the stage 2 setup with the steel flywheel. I have spoke to quite a few local shops such as tick and rpm and neither have had anyone complain or mention te noise so we'll see. But hell my cars so loud I probably wouldn't hear it anyways
