Default Spec III LIfe Span??

Ok there is a disscusion gion on over on the Corvetteforum about a 15k life span for the Spec III clutch. This guy was a hard core drag racer and went almost every weekend.

So how much could the daily drive expect to get out of the Spec III?? I am sure some you guys have this clutch in for more than 15k and can give some input on it.

Mine is getting close to the 20,000 mile mark and no problems so far. I didn't really race it much at the track, but it has seen tons of street action.

Mine lasted 15k over the course of 2 summers of daily driving and 2-3 track outings. About 1/3 of my stock clutch life span.

Don't buy a spec for the life span, don't buy a spec if you dislike chatter.
In fact, just don't buy a spec.

Mine has 25,000 miles (in about 18 months time) on it and is still holding strong. It's made probably 50-60 1/4 mile passes with 6,000rpm launches on the gas out of the hole. It also gets the crap driven out of it on the street.

I think in order to really get the most of the clutch you REALLY need 4.10+ gears. The car was a beast to drive when I still had the stock 3.42 gears in it.
