Default I'm gonna stump the pros

So i bought a 26 spline t5 out of a camaro just to throw in my mustang that has an lq4 swap. I know, i know, i'm gonna shatter it on the first clutch drop, yadda yadda. Well i bought a billet cluster support plate to attempt to improve the reliablilty of the unit. Well removed the tailhousing, pulled the shift fork/fifth gear assembly off and............ there is NO cluster support plate in my t5. What the hell? There is a torrington bearing on the end of the synchro assembly that presses itself against the tailhousing to control endplay. Is there any way to tighten up the endplay? I have about .023-.025 measured with a feeler gauge on the cluster gear, i would like to at least get .002 preload on this which is what the billet support was sposed to allow. What do i have here fellas?

You have a non-world class GM T5, even weaker than you were expecting.. Hope you didn't pay too much..

So let me ask this, i test fitted the plate and it would seem as though the bosses for the bolts are even there. Could i just drill and tap the holes into the case and install the support regardless?

Nevermind, wouldn't do a thing, bearing isn't tapered.
