I took mine off three years ago with the stock master and just put the new tick in this year. You don't need it.

Yes. I think the instructions from tick said to remove it.

All guys running a Tick should have their clutch return spring removed.

Is that the spring that's on the slave cylinder?

What does removing the spring do as far as having it in vs having it out? Easier to slip the clutch pedal when trying to engage at lower speeds?

no, its the spring thats on the actual clutch pedal. If you look where the pedal hinges in the assembly near your steering shaft, youll see a a spring that is essentially pulling the pedal up or pushing it down.

if you remove the spring, the only feeling that youll have through the pedal is the actual clutch, which is what you want. with it in, theres the added factor of that spring that you are feeling. However it might be better to leave it in with a factory master cylinder, i dont know. With a Tick, you should definately pull it out.

Is that why when the pedal is not connected to the master cylinder it will stay all the way up or all the way down but nothing in between?

Very interesting.

you got it.

when the master cylinder isnt attached to the pedal, it causes the pedal to stay 100% up or 100% to the floor.
