It's not offset (unless they have an option now), it's just that the location where the stick attaches to the shifter is about an 1.5" or so towards the driver.

Also, the 12mm refers to the threading for the shift ****. The stock (for our cars) is 16mm, so if you want to use one of theirs (or I'm sure other companies in some cases) go for the 12mm, or if you want to use the fbody or many others go with the 16mm.

The only issue I have had is that I have hit 3rd (caught myself) while going for 5th. You have to use a postive firm grip and you won't have a problem.
