Default Dunno wat clutch to buy

So ive been looking for a new clutch kit to buy but em unsure of what to get. I know its time for a new one, im not sliping gears or anything but i hear ratteling under there and well anyways was going to replace it. Also gonna do a rebuild as well.

Well my real question is. Anyone have any info on whats good and whats bad out there, Whats cheap and whats smart to get. I see alot of people buying LS6 clutches but i kinda want a new clutch and don't want to pay an arm or a leg since this is my DD and im not trying to make it a beast. just enough to kill stock 09 vetts.
So whats do you guys recommend i get.. Im looking to spend around 6-700 and im looking to get everything. Flywheel,TB, the whole kit to pull off a swap.Thank you for the help.

The Diamond Stage 1 would suit your needs perfectly, as its stronger than the LS7 clutch. The kit comes with a new slave w/ TOB, pilot bearing, & new chromoly lightweight billet flywheel. Or if you wanted something a step up, the Stage 2 would be fine as well. Its right in your price range at $599-649 on special until Jan 5th. Shipping is just 20bux too. Both setups are very streetable and drive almost like stock. The Stage 1 is rated at 500rw and Stage 2 is 600rw. Check out this link for the special

We do rebuilds but we don't sell any parts. Try D&D, Gear Box, or Tick

I helped a buddy install a Diamond stage-1 over Christmas vacation and it's a very, very nice piece. Well built, perfectly smooth balance job from idle to 6K+ RPMs, no chatter.

It may be significantly lighter than the LS6 clutch/flywheel it replaced, the guy says the engine revs quicker. Maybe TDP can comment on their flywheel weight as compared to GM's LS6.

Thanks for the good feedback..glad you are happy with it! The Diamond clutch kits weight 43lbs total (disc, pp & flywheel). The flywheel is 8lbs lighter than stock, while the pressure plate is 2lbs heavier. The stock LS1/LS6 clutch kit weighs in at 49lbs. So overall, the Diamond is 6lbs lighter, which is 12% less rotating mass.
