if the hydraulic line popped out of the slave the pedal will not go down, and if you try to force it you can destroy the seal in the master. that's the first thing I'd check.

Now why is that? The hydraulic line has a check ball in it? In other words, if it has a check ball in it, and you go to step on the pedal, the fluid will go nowhere and ruin the seals in the master because of it? Thanks man, just trying to understand.

Huh?
If it pops out of the SC, it will likely bleed out and if you push the pedal, its gonna gush out.

Nope it has a valve on the end that when the line is disconnected the fluid is blocked from leaking out. With the line unhooked from the slave the pedal will not depress.

^^ this.

although since he now informed us that it's a 3rd gen I really don't know, I would think the systems are similar but I'm really not familiar with them

The OP would need to clarify if it's an LS (what you said applies)
or an LT T56 (what you said does not apply.)

Way too many retrofit and interchange options here, OP.

To clarify, I was speaking to LT1 since LT1 is referenced in the OP's name. I do see wher he recently said 3rd gen. No clue there.
