Average install time?

Average install time? i am putting in my new clutch next weekend on saturday. I am doing it with a guy who works in a transmission shop. Wanted to compensate the guy for his time so want to get some cash in advance or he wont take it. whats an avg time frame to install a monster stage three on these cars?
5.4hrs for the clutch disc on a 6 speed.
+.2 for the pilot
+.2 for the flywheel.

I watched a guy do it on my car in about 4 hours or so, but the exhaust was pretty easy to drop on my car at the time. It just depends on what might be in the way of dropping the transmission out of there.
Before you get there, familiarize yourself with removing the center console and shifter if you aren't already - that'll save some time if you can breeze through it.

I like working at a nice leisurely pace when doing big jobs, so I spent about 8 hours last time around. That was on my own though in my driveway. If you have an extra set of hands (especially experienced ones) with a good selection of tools you could knock it out quite a bit quicker.
you guys saying 4 or 5 hours are nuts on a lift with some air tools start to finish is about 2-2 1/2 hours maybe cause ive done it about 5 times but even if i was going slow i cant see it being over 3

5.4 is book rate. That is the hours that tech would get paid to complete the job. Crazy or not, I did not make up that time. A good efficient tech can normally cut the flat rate in half if he/she has done the service before.
Being he is a trans tech, I am sure he can do it in 2 but will still bill 5.4 hours for the job.
Being a tech myself, if I was doing a side job, I would think getting paid my hourly rate x book rate would be more than fair by both parties. That is actually how I pay for my toys.

Yeah he is a transmission guy we will be using air tools. He's friends with my brother. He said I didn't need to pay him but will anyway. Thanks for the help. Figured 200 should be ok. 50 an hour on avg?

Yeah i do HVAC and hate it when friends want me to do stuff for free even though i do because i cant say no. Especially if it is someone i dont see or know all that well. So i tend to pay people or trade labor for labor.
