Viper T56 Will the T56 out of a 2005 Viper fit a 2002 SS Camaro? It appears that transmission is not made by Tremec it has Borg Warner stamped on the side. I have a friend selling one with low miles for $2000 and want to make sure it will fit before I purchase it.
The bellhousing is different and so is the tail housing. The position of the shifter on the tail housing will not line up. (Someone correct me if Im wrong)
You'll have to change the front plate and machine the input shaft. If you're trying for a direct fit, you'll have to change the tail also.
For the most part, it's alot of work & $ and you don't end up with much more than if you started with a Fbody T56 and had a sponsor do a viper-spec upgrade to it..
