Default FLT or Tick?

I am looking at getting a T-56 for my '02 LS1 Z28 in the not-so-distant future. I've been doing a ton of research and have narrowed it down to Finish Line Transmissions or Tick Performance. I was also considering Tremec, but I need honest opinions on which way to go.

My goals are Street/Strip and not more than 500hp until cash allows.

All feedback would be much appreciated as this is what I will be basing my final decision off of.

My question is this, who should I go with based on the following: Quality, Strength, Customer Service, Price, and Warranty?

I do not have a core so I would be purchasing an entire unit if one is available.

Thanks in advance

-Rob

What research led you to those two? Wouldn't the criteria you've asked about, (Quality, Strength, Customer Service, Price, and Warranty) already been decisions that led you to two?

I have no interest either way, but I know both TDP and RPM have good feedback on the boards also.. Just curious.

BTW, Tremec is a Mfg. Are you saying you're considering just buying a new stock T56 directly from Tremec?

Well, at least in my opinion, I like Tick. Another route, and this may or may not be available would be to buy a core, and then rebuild it yourself. I went this route, came out about 1k cheaper than having one built and as along as you keep track of everything, isnt too terribly hard to do. But if you dont have the know how/desire you can always get one from tick and theyll do it for you. The Magnum series gear boxes from tremec are pretty good they are pricey, but I havent check on the cost of a core lately, so it may fall right in line with what you'll pay anyways.

Yes it is, but reading about them and getting input from those that have had experience with the transmissions are two different things.

I am aware that Tremec is the manufacturer. Yes, one of their distributors.

I'm not sure if it's your intentions or not, but your comments are coming off as very condescending. If you don't have any constructive advise please leave this thread for those that do.

If you would like to elaborate on TDP and RPM in more detail, I would be happy to hear your opinions.

This is something I've considered, but I've never built one. I know it isn't rocket science, but I'm not comfortable doing alone

Did you send a core or buy entire unit?

So far I've got one vote for FLT, one vote for RPM, and 3 votes for Tick (other thread included). Anybody else have input?
