I also just finished a rebuild of my t56, virgin effort, but all went well, my 5/6 cluster broke coming off, so I had to pop for a new one to the tune of $180.00! The gear box in Mich. did great by Me, way fast service, and no hitches. Its all still fresh in my mind, so if I can answer any questions I'd be happy to. btw Your main shaft definitely is a paperweight, but You knew that.
