weird noise when i disengage gear

Default weird noise when i disengage gear

I test drove a 02 z28 last night and it was going good til i almost got back to the dealer and when i pushed in the clutch and pulled it out of gear it started grinding I could feel it in the clutch pedal it would go away after I put it back in gear and let out the clutch happened a couple times not every time i shift and it was louder the faster you would go any info much appreciated thanks

anybody any input helps looking to buy a car soon would like to know if it is something to worry about

Sounds like you can bargain the price of a clutch install off the asking price.

the only thing that worries me is if its the trany not the clutch its got 74000 on the clock so id be looking to upgrade the clutch anyways $500 for a clutch is easy 2000 for a trany not so much

Im new to the t56 and ls1 had a 94 a4 z28 lt1

I second what was mentioned about your chance to negotiate the price. You say little about the problem. I am curious as to whether or not you felt the grinding at the shifter as well as on the pedal. Regardless, I think you will be fine with a new clutch kit. I recommend replacing everything including flywheel and thrust bearing. That is if you buy the car.

did not feel it in the shifter seemed to shift good it was like a vibration in the clutch pedal with grinding noise happened at a slow roll in first when i pushed in the clutch shifting between 1 and 2 once and between 4 and 5 once took it on like a 20 mile drive
