clutch question

clutch question I have a 93 Z28 M6
When I accelerate sometimes if I get up to about 5000 rpm on the tach, it kinda feels like the clutch slips a little and then re-engages I guess you could say. It only seems to do it in 1st gear, after that its fine. Other than hard acceleration the clutch feels good.
So my question is the clutch actually worn out? Or is it possibly not adjusted properly? The guy I bought it from wasn't sure if the previous owner installed a new clutch, so I'm not to sure of what happened in the past. I'm hoping its an adjustment thing, I don't have the money for a new clutch.
