Default popped a brand new slave... can i put it back together?

well, i had my clutch gravity bled and ready for action (my transmission is in the shop). i was putting a new ambient light sensor in the center of my dash, and i instinctively pushed the clutch pedal in to turn the key to test it out.

well, i had a pedal that stuck to the floor, and I immediately knew exactly what happened. I looked under the car and saw the puddle. Stupid, I know.

What I'm asking here, is there a way to push this thing back together? I have a mityvac here that I could test it with. If possible, can someone let me know how.

I did the same thing, just push it back together, may require you do bleed it again. I have 8,000 on mine now.

How did you go about pushing it back together though? Like where did it even leak from?

The I just pushed it back in, it leaked because it extended to far, thus breaking the seal.

I think I know what you're saying.

I pulled that green boot out and wiped all the brake fluid out, then grabbed the throwout bearing plate and pushed down a few times. around the third time it started spewing brake fluid out of the bleeder, so I'm thinking this thing is holding some kind of seal?

I have a mityvac on it right now testing to see if it's holding vacuum, but I think the vac has a leak in it.

If you over extended the travel on the slave cylinder, I would suggest replacing it.
