Default 2002 Trans Am hard to shift @ high RPMs

I have an 02 Trans Am with an LS1 and 6-Speed. It drives very well in town, but is very difficult, almost impossible, to shift at high RPM's. Can anyone help? I have no idea what's going on.

You should read through the manual transmission section. It answers all of these questions.

But there are usually 2 issues that can cause this...
1. Fluid needs to be changed (look to see if its a dark color), look up 'mighty vac'
2. You need to do the 'drill mod', or step up to a tick master.

Best of luck!

Very common problem that has been fixed for thousands of people by our Adjustable Master Cylinder kit: http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...or-ls1-f-body/

Curious what clutch is in the car and how much power are you making?

Someone brought this issue up to me. I am about to drop some serious dough on the car. and one of the purchases is a new clutch, which i thought would get rid of this problem since I am replacing the slave cylinder. Can someone elaborate first what causes this hard shift problem. I have the same issues. And second, how does this adjustable clutch master cylinder alleviate the problem?

Exactly same problem! Put in a tick and it all went away! Small amount of money for what you get!
