Tranny mount going out???
Tranny mount going out??? Lately my car has been making a dull poping sound coming from under the car when under hard acceleration or a hard start. I checked my tranny mount and i think its toast. So my question is what normally happenes when a tranny mount goes out. Just trying to pin point my problem. Thanks in advance.

I dont think thats the best way to approach it...my shifter moves alot during hard acceleration, but I pulled my tranny mount off and its in perfect shape. Torque arm looked good too...these trannies seem to have a decent bit of give to them as it is. In all honesty it only takes about 30 minutes to pull off your tranny mount and check it, so I would say do that.

with the stock mount there is excessive movement, I changed mine a while ago to a 1le mount. Shifter movement was reduced by at least 50%. If you have a stock mount yes it would be difficult to tell because it s*cks from the get go.

Im not sure if the 1le is still available, if it was i guess SLP would have it. Energy suspension makes a replacement i think for around $20. Some post extra noise some dont but i think that has something to do with how its installed.
If you have banging it might be your exhaust hitting the floor. A new mount would help but may not resolve it completely. Do a test and take a piece of heater hose and wedge it above the exhaust(Y-pipe) and see if the sound goes away.
