Need some advice
Need some advice So I just lost 3rd and 4th gear on my way home and limped my car home. I barely have enough cash to buy a rebuild kit let alone send the trans off to get rebuilt, I'm in highschool and getting absolutely no help from my parents as far as funding.
So I'm needing some advice as far as should I try jumping into my trans and rebuilding it without any knowledge of rebuilding a transmission? I'm pretty handy with a wrench so I'm not to concerned about screwing it up as long as I have some instructions on how to rebuild it but then again I've never done this before so maybe I will get in over my head? Is it pretty simple? is there any special tools required? Or should I just try to save up some cash and send it off to a sponser? This is my DD to work and school. I'd appreciate any information.
