Hello all,
I try to spend most of my time reading instead of asking questions, but this one is particular to me I suppose. I have a T56 transmission out of a 97 Camaro that I need to mate to an LS1. This just the transmission, no bellhousing, no shifter, etc. The application is for converting a 01 Lincoln LS auto v8 with a locked engine to an LS1 T56.
Obviously, I know I need to replace the midplate and input shaft and buy an LS1 bellhousing to convert it to work with the LS1. Here is the list of other parts I believe I need. If I am missing something, even if it's obvious, please let me know. If I am including something not needed, also let me know.
Conversion:
LS1 Bellhousing (from tickshift or similar or used if I can find one)
Input shaft (same as above)
Midplate (working on a trade for my LT1)
General parts:
Flywheel, Clutch, Pressure plate
Flywheel and pressure plate bolts?
Clutch Slave Cylinder
Clutch Master Cylinder
Reverse solenoid?
A clutch pedal![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Shifter and ****
If someone has a complete t56 transmission pulled out right now near central maryland, I'd love to come over and take a look at it so I can get visual checklist.
I may eventually need a way to extend the shifter back a bit, but I'll cross that bridge if and when I come to it.
Pictures attached of my transmission.
Edit: Now they're attached.

Hmm, well I started searching for people converting their a4 Camaro to t56 and found this:
http://www.ssz28.com/tech/A4M6Conversion.html
I think that covers most of it.
