Default torque arm unhooked lead to missed shifts???

At the track yesterday I missed shifts on 5 of my 6 passes which was odd because I rarely miss a shift. So on my last pass yesterday I could hear something clanking from under the car, sounded like my driveshaft was hitting the safety loop. Checked the drive shaft before I left for home but it was fine. Babied it home and lifted it up and the front bolt that bolts the torque arm bushing to the trans was gone. So the torque are was just flappin around under there smacking my trans. Could that have anything to cause me to miss shifts? when it was lifted up the rear end was swinging back and forth.
