Shouldn't be any confusion in this forum! It is an awesome shifter man! I went from stock to the Ripper, and now the PRO 5.0. There is no question about whether it is the supreme shifter out of the two. Much stronger feel, and way less likely to mis-shift. It does happen, though, so don't think it can't.

I hear the 5.0 is a great shifter...I had one in my 98 Cobra and it was great. The only thing you should be aware of is that it's VERY notchy. Don't expect this shifter to be smooth at all.

Get it, I dont have it but hate my Ripper. It always hits some block between 1st and 3rd when I'm trying to shift into 3rd quickly. No matter what I do, if I shift fast it does this. Not all are like this, but thats my opinion...

IIRC the Pro 5.0 was my first mod too. I like it but I want to add the short stick to it.

I love my Pro 5.0! With my short stick , I love it even more. Had a ripper in my other camaro, I didn't like it at all. Go with the Pro 5.0

Where do you guys get the short stick? Couldn't find it on the sponsors sites. I just got my car converted to an M6 and the deal came with a Pro 5.0. The 5.0 is sweet, though. I've put 500 miles on it and practiced alot of speedshifting today and haven't missed a shift yet (except reverse lol), and this is my first manual car.

I just installed a 5.0 today myself and love it. Feels much better, and has a great throw with the LSS.

I made my own short stick out of the Pro 5.0 handle. Cut about 3/4" - 1" off of threads on the top of the stick. Just make sure you don't cut too much off.

Afterthoughts Auto is the only place that I know of to get the Lou's Short Stick. They are a sponsor of this site.

This is probably the best mod I've done so far. Took me about an hour to get used to this shifter/stick combo but it is MUCH better than the stock shifter/stick IMHO.
