Default Stuck to Floor

Well... I was getting on my car pretty hard and while shifting my clutch went to the floor and wouldn't come back up.

I parked it and pulled it up with my hand and it started working fine again and hasn't stuck since but I am a little nervous to do any hard driving.

Could this be my MC?

Are you using DOT3? If so, that's your problem. DOT3 boiling point is around 375. The clutch line runs right down beside the block and gets hot when driven hard. I had the same problem. Buy 2 or 3 bottles of prestone DOT4, syphon all the DOT3 out (including what's in your line) which means you will have to syphon it out and refill it about 20 times. Good luck! It fixed my problem.

Its not just from using DOT 3 fluid.. DOT 4 will not be the end all solution.. if it is happening now it will happen again no matter the fluid.. the stock MC's are shitty.. looks like your in need of a Tick Master, better act quick though, prices are rising here shortly I believe.

i know the feeling. its your clutch master cylinder...i want a tick master, but have always used autozone ones because my buddy bought one and we just keep using his warranty when ever we need one. i just change them when i do a clutch job.

Ill probably just buy a clutch kit from ws6store and a slave and master. I will have to stay cheap though. On a College kid budget lol

How much is it from autozone and now my clutch pedal is pushing back harder
Than it ever was. It is a totally different feeling when shifting or taking off

I assume the stock clutch is in the car, how much power are you making? What condition is the clutch fluid in? I'd start with that first. If the clutch is slipping, it's creating more clutch dust and contaminating the fluid not allowing the hydraulics to function properly. Some of our vendors are having a sale on our clutches currently, so a Level 1 would be a better option in the long run. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Chris, 817-750-2000

Its not really slipping, and yes stock clutch and replaced the fluid not very long ago.

I hope this is just the MC

You mention not really slipping, but you were driving it hard and when shifting it sticks to the floor. If the fluid is full, clear and bled...I think a good clutch could solve your problem. Not sure of the mileage on it currently, but what you're describing sounds like the pressure plate springs getting weak from the heat and that's why it won't disengage.

It sticks and stays stuck even when I turn it off.

If it makes any difference, I can still drive when the pedal is stuck in and even shift gears most of the time.

Mine does it all the time when I get on it immediately after I put H/C on my car. It can't handle the extra 100hp...lol, so it may not be your MC. I bled mine with DOT 4 and it didn't help one bit. I just ordered a new clutch last week, sucks not to be able to floor it.

Does anyone know if this "sticking clutch" issue will hurt performance at all? Since it's technically not slipping but the PP springs are fatigued.

A clutch that isn't fully disengaging is going to hurt the transmission if you're not having to shift slowly.
