Is it ok to use royal purple Syncro max in a t56 6 speed-2002 camaro ss

My buddy just put it in his 99 WS6. He loves it. Not sure on longevity though.

its fine as long as your t56 is stock, otherwise it will eat up CF blocker rings

I have never once seen any evidence of the Royal Purple SyncroMax eating up anything. That's a rumor spread from one shop to another.

I've seen evidence posted on here before, turned the CF to a gum like substance. believe it or not I don't know why you'd want to risk it when theres plenty of other proven brands out there

The poster above you probably has rebuilt more t-56's than you have even seen in your life, im sure if it was a problem, he would know.....

Ive read the other way around actually. that it doesnt take too well to the stock setup but Im no expert.

My builder actually recommends the the RP with my built T56, and they are one of the best builders (RPM Transmissions) so Ill take their word for it.

I'd love to see it. I've seen the lining of the carbon fiber ring come loose from the actual steel ring but the fluid in it varied from brand to brand and type to type. In the end, its more of a defective part than the fluid that was in the unit. I've ran Royal Purple SyncroMAX in everything from a world class T5 to a Tremec TKO. I have never seen the fluid specifically cause any failure at all. In fact about the only positive I have seen from it is less heat generated from the transmission itself in certain applications. The biggest complaint I have heard about Royal Purple products is because the fluid is so dark in color, its hard to read it in race engines when changed.

indeed. I think my last sentence sums it up tho, whether its a myth or not, why risk it?
I'll stick with M1 since it works fine for me and its what my builder recommended.
