trans swap???

Default trans swap???

my neighbor has a 92 camaro he swapped the 305 to a350 and its a 5 spd. i have a 1999 5 spd parts car and was wondering if a 99 5spd has same bolt pattern, pilot shaft length. overall dimensions to swap??? he has limited funds and i wanted to do him a favor and give him this 99 5spd for spare or to enhance for performance use. what fits what info would be greatly appriciated . you know bell housing, bolt pattern ,interchange of bell housing etc.. thanks in addvance.. oldman....

If your 99 is a five speed, is it a 6cylinder,,, in 99 every v8 in these cars was an ls1 and the only manual trans behind the LS1 was the T56 and it is a six speed. If your five speed is from a v-6 I highly doubt its gonna bolt up to the sbc 350 which is what he swapped to.

The V6 T5 that year has a Ford bellhousing pattern and an input shaft that's longer than the V8 T5.

Even if he had a plate to adapt it to an 84-92 F V8 bellhousing, then he'd have to shorten the driveshaft a little bit.

So it's simpler to buy the right T5 in the first place.
