+1 for the McLeod RST. A good friend of mine has one in his car. Pretty heavily modified, runs 10's, and the pedal feel is softer and more controlled than my LS7 clutch. The RST will be my next clutch come spring time. Can't go wrong with it.

My spec 3+ with lightweight pressure plate and spec aluminum flywheel chatters a good bit. It only held 5K miles or so before it started to slip. Spec rebuilt it and it's been holding for ~10K now. Once it goes, I'm moving to the RXT and a heavier flywheel for hopefully better driveability. Oh, and I had a spec 2+ which promptly died after 1K or so after the turbo went on (car only made 485 rwhp then).

What is your planned torque output? My initial thought would be the Stage 3+, for good street manners and higher-output in a car that is used fairly aggressively. Of course if you want to bump-up to a Super-Twin the SST or PT versions would suit you just fine too.

I have the McCleod RST on my car, and it's fantastic. It requires effort similar to a stock clutch, and very smooth. However, unlike stock, it never gives a hint that Im near its limits. I really believe its as driveable as stock. No company's stage 3 or 3+ comes any where close to it.
Now, if you want to make 700+ hp, you need an RXT. Im actually going to an auto, pm me if you want an RST (or T-56)..
Those Spec stories just keep on coming.... Dont waste your money.

Karpel, Seems like you have had some bad luck. Do you have an RMA# for reference so I can look into what we found relative to your 3+. Proper set-up and measurements, along with a number of other factors, affect clutch life and performance...and I am sure you realize this.

I have a spec 3+ and its been in for over 2yrs and no problem out of it. It does have some chatter but it's got around 10,000 miles on it. I have done several 6000rpm launches leaving on a 150 shot and its still holding. My car makes 682rwhp,784rwtq. Not sure how much life it has left but im going to run it till it gives it up.

I don't have the RMA# handy, but I can pm you some of my information for tracking it down. Although, I'm pretty sure I worked with you on it back when I was having issues. I think a lot of the current chatter stems from having the lightweight pressure plate option paired with the lightweight flywheel in a full-weight street car. In addition, I could see the steel insert of the flywheel warping with heat since it is all one piece.

another clutch to look at is the textralia twin disk. I have one in my car and have had several 1.40 60's with a 150 shot. It drives like an absolute dream on the street and it will slip w/out chatter if you need to drag the pedal out...
