missing bellhousing dowel

Question missing bellhousing dowel

I am missing one. was there supposed to be the passanger side dowel in the bellhousing and the driverside in the block? theres nothing on the driver side. anyone have a part number?

You can order them from Summit, Jegs, etc. Or call up the parts guy at your local dealership and he can look it up.

I found it on another thread. Thanks tho. The driver side dowel goes into the block and the passanger dowel goes in the bellhousing correct?

I don't think it matters. My shortblock or tranny didn't come with either. I hammered both into the block and didn't have any issues. Make sure you put some anti seize on them. Will make it a lot easier whenever you have to replace your clutch.

two in the block. two in the trans. front adapter plate.

I'm missing both from the trans to the bell housing. Is that bad?

i mean i would try to find some to put in there but i don't think its going to be the end of the world either....they just aligns the trans up to the motor correctly

Yes this is bad. Alignment issues will cause major transmission problems(and repairs)
