Default What clutch is needed to use LT1 T56 on LS1 motor?

Swapping an LSx motor (LQ9) into a 1979 T/A. Picked up a T56 from a 94 Z28.

Is just a factory LS1 clutch kit needed or will i need to get a bellhousing from an LS1's T56?

I also don't know if they're will be a problem with the slave cylinder.

(This is all for a friends swap so i might need more info)

thanks,
Jeff

You have to change the bellhousing and mainshaft also. The front plate is also different but not 100% sure if it will work or not.

i dont see how it's easier to do all that work then to just sell it and buy a T56 out of an LS1..... my friends got this idea that if he made a custom flywheel (lt1 diameter with ls1 crank bolt pattern) and used all the lt1 clutch kit stuff it would work..... i guess we'll see.

input shaft needs changed and so does the faceplate. AFAIK that's the only thing keeping it from being used on an LS1

input shaft, front bearing plate (midplate), and bellhousing are different. $600+ in parts

Get an LS1 T56 instead. Waaaay cheaper to do.
