I have a 98' Firebird 3.8 five speed manual with 30,000. It's starting to occasionally pop out of first gear when starting out from a standstill.

I need to find what type trans (T-5?) it has and what type of data (if any) there is on this problem.

Can any one here point me in the right direction on solving this problem?

Anyone else have this problem or is this only a 6 speed V8 site?

If it's original equipment, it's a T5. If it has not been rebuilt, it needs one. If it has been rebuilt, it may not have been done correctly.
