From what I understand proshifting your trans pretty much makes it unstreetable. I've heard about slick shifting a trans to get the best of both worlds.....pro shifted style gears with modified syncros to work with them. This way your trans doesn't turn into a total crashbox. Any input on this one?

I would not consider pro-shifted "unstreetable". I'm going to be putting my exhaust back on, cushy factory seat back in, and driving my car on the street for a while. Yeah, they make a thunk going in to gear, but that's about it.

That said, I have not heard of what you're describing. If you shaved every few teeth off of a synchronizer ring, it could be left on a pro-shifted gear, and it could conceivably reduce the 'thunk' when the trans goes in to gear (by making the slider hit an already-spinning gear, and not a nearly stopped gear). But then again, it's something that could get in the way of a WOT powershift.

But, it sounds cool. Got any pictures or anything online?
