Default Pilot Bearing Questions.

Long story short I did a clutch and flywheel on a 2005 (12/04 production) GTO 6 speed. also at this time had the T56 rebuilt. started by using a competition clutch stage 1 kit along with their lightweight flywheel and supplied shim and pilot bearing. Install went smoothly and began driving the car all was normal for 450-500 miles then along comes a sudden and severe vibration from idle and up. Pulled the transmission to find all bolts etc the exact way I left them (factory TQ specs), However found the input shaft to be bent a tad. I used the pilot bearing that was included with the kit (needle style) which matched the pilot I removed also needle style. What could have caused a random bend in the input? every bit of info i can find shows the roller bearing pilot to be correct for the goat however all of the install guides I see are removing and installing needle bearings.
