gripforce clutch?
is this clutch supposed to be BETTER than the z06 clutch? i'll probably stay with the power i've got now, and if it goes up, it won't go up by too much. i was looking into the spec 3, but they are more expensive, and it's obviously a little overkill for my particular situation. what do you guys think of this?

Our clutch kit is designed to withstand up to 450 ft-lbs of torque and about
450HP. Usually it lasts to about 40,000~50,000 miles for moderate driving.
The components in the clutch kit has fortified pressure plate and higher
durability disc. It is about 25% stronger than the regular Z06 clutch.
Thanks,
Jay
Well... "IF" Z06 clutch can handle 450HP, then our clutch can handle 540HP.
;-) Do you see the figure? ;-)
It's all people's talk whatever the HP they say.
If you are NOT planning to heavily modify your car, you don't need SPEC or
McLeod clutches.
For your info, we sell these clutches, too. ;-) But, YES they are overkill!
Also, they are VERY expensive because of their brand names. They are only a
little better than our Gripforce clutch kit at the premium price.
then i emailed him back, and then he responded:
Oh, maybe there was a miss-communication.
You will not find the part number from GM.
LUK is the clutch manufacturer for the GM LS1/LS6 engines.
And we specifically requested LUK to manufacturer a Heavy-Duty version of
LS1/LS6 clutch kits.
So, it is a kit containing some exclusive components not being able to find
from the GM directly.

in response to gripforce - they are liars. while someone may have tried their clutch and while it may be a great deal and a great clutch, their product is not what they say it is. gripforce told me that Luk (who makes GM clutches) specifically makes this clutch just for them, and for no one else. when i called Luk a second time to speak to them about this, they did some research, called me back, and responded, "i'm sorry to tell you this, but there is no company that we do any kind of business with called gripforce or anything like it. and furthermore, we never make specific clutches for specific companies. all of our clutches are available to any retailer."
the lies made me shy away. i will be purchasing a spec 2.
I deal directly with Luk and have never known them to custom make a clutch for anyone. I have not been able to look at the gripforce clutch. For some reason I can pull up their front page but it will not allow me to see the product. They are probably just selling the stock Luk clutch which has the latest gen Z06 cover in it. How much were they selling the kit for?
. The company we work with is Valeo, who owns LUK now.
We don't work directly with LUK and that is why you probably cannot get the answer you want from them. ;-)
They don't know everything Valeo(the mother company) does.
Our kit, although it looks very similar, holds 25% over the stock LS1s for sure.
I understand your doubts, but we are a sincere company and there is no reason we should cun anybody about the product.
Sincerely,
Jay
