Default Which clutch...LS7 or Monster Stage 1

I'm in the neighborhood of 400+rwh and I need to upgrade my clutch. I am looking for a complete kit. I don't want/need anything to radical so I am stuck choosing between the LS7 or Monster stage 1. Your thoughts fellas? And which sponsor would be the best to go through? Thx!

Tick offers a great package for the monster clutches. Comes with tick MC, monster clutch of your choice, slave cylinder, flywheel of your choice. Im going with the stage 2 package. my vote would be monster.

i have a ls7 in my car and love it and i promise it has been abused more then most clutches and it still holds fine after roughly 100 track passes launching at 5500 and has around 10k street miles

ls7 clutches are great but if your planning on over 400rwhp i think i'd look for something a little beefier than either one of those just for piece of mind. i've never ran one of those with anything more than bolt-ons but i'd probably look at a monster stage 2 or 3. especially since Tick is having a $100 off sale right now.

I have seen threads about and also heard that the Tick slaves and masters have issues. Should I upgrade my currents to GM?

I just contacted tick's asking about their monster clutch and tick master adjustable cylinder and slave cylinder package. Wondering if a stage 2 is alright on a basically stock '98 camaro with full bolt ons cam and heads in the near future. Can a stage 2 clutch on a near stock camaro be a bad thing ?

Soo getting a stage 2 should be alright on a stock to a near stock ls1, well i think i'll be ordering the monster clutch and tick hydrualic pkg. I'll stick with the 28lb bille flywheel and get the gm flywheel bolts even though they have arp flywheel bolts but i dont want tp pay $40 for arp.

What are your goals with the car? Do you plan on doing H/C in the future? If so, go with the Stage 2. If your plans are to simply keep it stock, the stage 1 will be more than enough. From what I understand, the stage 2 drives the same as the stage 1. Chris said you don't really notice or feel a difference until you step up to the stage 3.

I have a monster lvl.1 and I'm loving it. I went from a ls7 that I had a ton of trouble with getting it to function correctly. From what I've seen and heard, an ls7 will hold strong at 400whp. Good price, but they don't have a warranty. So if you go to install and it is defective, your **** out of luck and the money you spent on it. So it was a no brainer for me when deciding between a monster or another ls7. I believe there is a sale going on for monster clutches so a lvl.2 may suit your needs better than a lvl.1 for just a tad more cash.

Sounds like the stage 2 is the one to go with

I just installed a level 3 Monster and I absolutely love it! No chatter...NO CHATTER. I love how it drives, engages, and the quality of it is way better than any SPEC I have put in this car. No matter which level you decide on, Monster is the way to go.

Im debating the same thing right now, ls7 or monster stage 1. Im only boltons, and will be that way for a while. I want stock feel and love the $400 price tag of the ls7, but I hear GREAT things about monster.

I have a monster stage 2 in mine and I love the way that thing grabs!! It is smooth as butter now since I had the Tick Master put in. Spend the extra $50 and save having to change it out again for your upgrades.

LOVE my ls7, i am making 385rwhp and have had my clutch for 36k miles. It has never slipped. With that being said i WOULD not hesitate to go with a monster clutch, If i ever add any more mods and my clutch goes out I will most likely change it to a monster clutch.
