ok so i got my shifter in about a week ago installed it the second i got in the door from work. BUTTTTTTTTT somthings wrong..the centering springs from 5 and 6th dont return the shifter back to the center it just stays there. called and they told be to drive with it for a while.. any idea what could be wrong i had no issues like this with the stock shifter. also REVERSE is CRAZY hard to get in gear it was a little tough on my stock shifter but nothing crazy stiff like it is now. CHECK OUT THE VIDS AND LET ME KNOE WHAT YOU THINK

Ive read some posts where the #6 boot can cause the shifter not to come out of the 5-6 gate right away depending on how it's installed over the shifter. As to rev being trouble, is the solenoid unlocking the gate? My car had the solenoid wire broken and it was tough to get into the rev gate, really had to push hard towards pass side of car. When the solenoid does not have power it blocks the gate, the pcm provides a ground to the lockout solenoid with vehicle speed from 0-5 mph or so. KOEO it should be easy to get through the rev gate.
Maybe obvious, but does the MGW return to center when it's unmounted from the transmission? I just checked my new MGW and it re-centers immediately from both 1-2 and 5-6 on and off the transmission.
It's not the boot. It does the same thing with or with out it. Can't wrap my head around it MGW saying to give it some time and that it might be my tranny. But my stock shifter never did this.

^^^ +1 on the bad one... mine worked fine right out of the box. also, if it still sticks off the transmission then it is the shifter. send it back! still a good choice with MGW though!!
