I am in the process of replacing my McLeod RS dual disc clutch on a 470 RWHP setup. 3,000 miles, street tires, and don't beat too hard on the car (not many hole shots). Clutch wore prematurely, flywheel has hairline crack.

INCREDIBLY disappointed this McLeod failed so soon. $1,000 in parts alone.

Would not buy McLeod again. Any recommendations? I was told a single plate clutch would be a better choice for longevity and reliability as well as being able to hold up to the power (600 crank hp + 200 shot of N2O).

My monster stage 3 is awsome and held 520 rwhp just fine but one complaint I have is after it gets warm with just normal driving it squills on engagement anyone else with this problem?? I also have the tick master and love it I think it feels better than stock. I drove my bddies with a stock master and spec 3 and I can say I like my set up a lot better!!! Just my opinion though

My Mcleod rxt has been nothing but incredible. When I finally wore out my rxt(20k hard street miles and tons of passes @ the track), I sent it back to Mcleod to have it rebuilt. My clutch has been holding 650rwhp, 6k rpm nitrous launches with out a single problem.

In the past 41 years that this company has been in business we have been building our clutches right here in southern California U.S.A. if you have any doubts about that we encourage you to stop by and see for yourself. Our address is 1600 Sierra Madre Circle Placentia Ca 92870.

Mcleod or the ls7 clutch conversion for an Fbody? Clutch has 37k miles on it, stock ls6 clutch, but it sat at a dealer for a few months with "joy riders". Clutch works flawlessly 90% of the time but that 10% has me worried...

This is an apples to oranges comparison...

I'll put my singles against any singles on the planet and am confident we'll be just fine.

I'll put my singles holding and longetivity up against most twins and am confident we'll be just fine, however, a twin is designed to be better suited as far as drivability is concerned.

The RST is rated to 800hp and drive identical to stock with a pedal that is arguably lighter than stock with silky smooth engagement. Its bigger brother the RXT can handle 1000hp and drives slightly more agressive than the RST but still has much better street manners than just about any aftermarket single disc clutch. Check out the "6 speed fastest list" and see which company the top cars used the most. The RST can be had for around $700 brand new.
What is included in this $700 package?

I see a solution to your one problem here......Make a twin plate!

I believe it's just the clutch. No flywheel, bearings or slave.
