Are are clutches/flywheels the same for all T56's?
Hey guys, I tried searching on the internet and other forums but didnt have any luck. I'm new to V8's. Just bought a clutch kit for my GTO as mine was done for. I was just curious if all T56 clutches/flywheel bolt up all the same?
Ex: Say i bought a clutch kit from a guy with a 2002 Camaro SS, will it bolt up to my GTO LS2/T56?
Or say I bought a clutch kit from a guy with a 2002 WS-6, will it bolt up to my GTO LS2/T56?
I'm assuming something that might be different are pilot bearing or bushing, possibly slave cylinder from the little i could find...

From what i know "LS T56" use the same clutches.... BUT the LS2 T56 uses a different PILOT bearing than the LS1 T56... And the GTO uses a different MASTER and SLAVE compared to Fbody... As you probaly already know they also have different shifters. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this...
^^^* Probably... And T56 from LT1 motors are ALOT than LS1 T56

If you look through the conversions section you'll find where people had problems. You generally need to but a flywheel and clutch/pressure plate together to match.
While most will interchange, the GTO is the oddball one. It's configured different and even requires a different starter.
I think the corvette and CTS-V use a different pilot bearing that rides in the outter crank flange.
