Roasted clutch with a side of 'pedal to the floor'?
Took my 99 z28 to the track for the first time last night and had some clutch issues.
On run 1, I shifted into 3rd and the clutch pedal stayed on the floor for a couple of seconds before returning to the top. I also smelled burned clutch very badly after the pass. Is it possible I roasted it so bad that the fluid boiled?
On another run I missed 3rd; the car would not let me shift into 3rd without waiting and reclutching.
On my final run I got into 3rd fine, but the motor just seemed to free rev, slipping the clutch badly.
This all on a lightly bolted-on car with the stock NON Z rated tires (crap, 118mph speed limiter).
Do you guys think this a hydraulic issues that can be remedied with drill mod or cylinder replacement? Or do I need a whole new clutch.
Thanks,
